My Appointment with HOD Part 2

Just when I thought I could have a slight chance of delaying my transfer, my hope was completely shattered.

HOD called to tell me that she has found a solution to my problems/concerns.

She would arrange me to work regular office hours most of the time and I would step into shift duty only when is necessary. What a nice and generous offer! The management is willing to give in slightly to accommodate my situation.

Do I have any chance to delay or argue? Do I have any objections against this transfer?

Look from a positive angle; I am getting a change in the working environment which is quite a norm if I want to remain employed. I am still paid though the same amount but my expenses due to travelling and meals have shot up. I spend more time travelling on the MRT but my chance being exposed to wet weather is greatly reduced. I will face more human beings and newer technologies but lesser trees, insects, pests, stray dogs, frogs and even snakes. I can change my wardrobe and start looking for new dresses or skirts since I will not be "confined" to only long pants as there is no need for me to cycle from the bus-stop to my office,... etc.

But I will miss this little cosy office with my most understanding boss L, the little pussy cat which often loiters around for leftover food, the squirrels that often climb down from the big trees to look for food, the double rainbows which I have seen a few times after a downpour, the freshly brewed coffee which N will buy whenever he knows I am on duty,... etc.

Please tell me what should I do!

just make the best out of the given opportunity...and choose to be happy!

change is always unsettling...but once you take the first step...you'd soon realise most of your fears are unfounded! all the best - D_M
