The hazy days started a bit too early this year. I recalled hazy periods usually start around June onwards when the surface winds turned southwesterlies and the dry season begins in Indonesia. The dry season is also the time for land clearing before planting starts. The easiest, cheapest and most convenient method to clear land would be to burn.
Thick smoke resulted from the burning, coupled with the winds from the right direction, carry the minute smoke particles across the sea to the neighbouring countries.
This has been going on for decades and nothing much can be done.
